Matthew Quick

Matthew Quick (aka Q) is the New York Times bestselling author of several novels, including The Silver Linings Playbook, which was made into an Oscar-winning film, and The Good Luck of Right Now. His work has been translated into thirty languages and has received a PEN/Hemingway Award Honorable Mention. Q lives with his wife, novelist/pianist Alicia Bessette, on North Carolina's Outer Banks.

Matthew Quick's novel The Silver Linings Playbook was published by Picador in 2009. Wonderful little book that it is, it has now been made into the film Silver Linings Playbook. We at Picador haven't been able to move in London recently without hearing about the film starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro, so we're delighted that Matthew has offered up his thoughts on the films of 2012, and more besides.
