Kathleen Jamie, Paul Farley and Jacob Polley have all been chosen for the 10 strong shortlist for the prestigious 2012 T S Eliot Prize for Poetry out of 131 submissions.
Chair of the judges Carol Ann Duffy said, 'In a year which saw a record number of submissions, my fellow judges and I are delighted with a shortlist which sparkles with energy, passion and freshness and which demonstrates the range and variety of poetry being published in the UK.'
Kathleen Jamie's The Overhaul has also been shortlisted for the Costa Prize for Poetry.
Don’t read this. I’m supposed to be writing a piece for this blog about my new book of poems, but I’m doing this instead. Don’t you do this? It’s dark outside, the leaves are yellowing, the sausage-dog draft excluder is wedged against the back door, and you’re reading this while I do something else, though I don’t know what it is yet.
We're delighted that The Havocs has been shortlisted for the prestigious T. S. Eliot prize. To celebrate this achievement, and publication of the collection this month, we are holding a competition.
